‘Suri Silk’ is about passion – A passion for producing the highest quality knitting yarns (art yarns) and and fibre top and carded rovings made from 100% suri alpaca fleece and natural fibre blends.
‘Suri Silk’ products do not contain any synthetic materials.
Suri alpaca fleece has a silky, soft feel and a bright lustrous appearance. The suri silk yarn feels exactly the same as the fleece does on the alpaca.
The unique Surisilk fibre products are pure and natural eir own or blended with other natural fibres including fine huacaya alpaca. The yarns are light, warm and extremely soft. There is no ‘itch factor’ so products made with ‘Suri Silk’ can be worn next to the skin – ideal for babies and children’s garments and blankets, cuddly scarves, hats and socks and stylish evening knitwear.
The fleeces used in all of the suri silk fibre products are grown from my Jaegar Alpacas herd of white, fawn and coloured suri alpacas and from selected alpaca breeding 'friends' . I personally sort and class all of the fleece to ensure that each product is made from the highest quality fibre.
